The only reason he's here is because as much as David prefers to keep his nose out of the Government versus Resistance question when he isn't being paid by the Resistance, there is no doubt that intel is a great thing to have. And frankly, it's far too easy for a psychometric of his skill to find out something as simple as 'the Porter is back on' and immediately put together that there will be a raid.

Which is why the man, wanted by the government and a number of other groups for a distinct lack of let's call it loyalty, was present. Not that he was under the delusion that this was a good choice. Still, there is a value to being here, and the thing was, he was being paid today. Not to actually go into the building. There was literally no amount of money any branch of the resistance could offer him to do such a silly thing. No, his presence was merely one for recon. And he was being paid a damn pretty penny for it too.

After all, he was the one that could get them secrets they couldn't dare to dream just by handling badges or glasses or things that had been in people's pockets.

But why they couldn't have just put him up in a nice comfortable hotel room nearby was beyond him.

"I've always wondered," Prodigy mused as he moved to settle down next to the returned old-timer, "why you bother to smoke. You can't develop a nicotine addiction, your brain inherently heals itself, preventing it. Wouldn't it be more interesting to get a more involved vice? Perhaps chewing gum? At least that works the muscles of your jaw."
