[her face gets red with frustration, but she keeps her mouth shut tight and just glares back at him while unbuckling her belt, bristling a little as the sword clatters loudly onto the concrete.]

[he keeps the gun leveled at her, but returns muk and crobat, for now.]

[Lucina's heart beats with a bit of hope. there cannot be any other person he means but Darin. it has to be him. hope turns to dismay, realizing that means...Darin's trapped here, too. as much as she needs his strength...must they all endure madness again?

she hesitates, trying to keep her expression level and free of the conflict roiling inside to marginal success.]

[he gives her a long, hard glare before deciding on something.]

[such a thing to say...even in jest, it's too much. Lucina's eyes wince.]

I...I didn't even know you were here. I was...looking for others. Misplaced, like me. [her eyes flicker toward the blown-out outpost briefly.]

Shut up! [he snaps at her, all aggression.] You heard me! Get out of here!

[she bristles, getting a wide-eyed look of indignation for a beat before she reels herself back in.

tersely:] I came...to look for my friends...Let me at least check for sign of them.

[that's... apparently his limit. archie fires again, this time aiming at lucina.]

[she yelps, dropping to her knee. right away, she grabs for her scabbard, carrying it with her as she lunges straight into him, trying to use the hilt as a means to knock the wind out of him so her free hand can make a pass for that gun -- to grab it, if not outright crush it in-hand.]

[he rolls out the way, knowing to get back from someone who uses a sword when she comes towards you, even if her sword is on the ground. it just seems like common sense? don't get close?

crobat busts out it's ball again-- why would fighting a trainer be easy? -- and let sout a deafening scream, shooting a supersonic at her before charging forward in the air to tackle her itself. crobat remembers she can fly; crobat does not want her to take off.

archie is... useless. and also out of ammo. so fuck.]

[Lucina had intended to break away in flight, but Crobat spoils that one right away. while wincing, she's not ready for the bulk of that bat to hit her, and she is sent staggering back the moment she gets to her feet. off-kilter, she still swings her scabbard to swat him away, trying to parse an opening to escape even as her ears ring and her vision doubles.]

[crobat, despite its severe and savage appearance, is a friendship evolution for a reason. it might be hard to tell, but crobat was always the best part of archie.

right now is an example.

it grabs lucina as she swats at him uselessly, taking off with her in its claws. archie calls after it, telling it to kill her, but crobat knows better. it carries her a mile or so away then drops her onto the grass, hovering for a moment with an irritated look before disappearing again.

crobat knows better. crobat knows archie wouldn't kill someone like lucina. it'll just pretend it did the deed.]
