[closed] Well I'm child and man and child again
WHO: Carol Danvers & TK-622
WHERE: Across the City
WHEN: mid January, 2020
WHAT: two government enforcers on patrol
WARNINGS: brainwashing, control chips used for reconditioning/punishment, potential violence
Following the Captain's very publicized and highly damaging fight with the escaped prisoner Apollo, it was decided she would be grounded for a bit, working alongside more reliable agents who weren't likely to fly off the handle-- literally, in Carol's case. She doesn't mind working with TK-622. He's efficient, if a bit stiff. A stickler for the rules in a way Carol never has been, but she wouldn't hold that against him.
She shows up to their assigned meeting point suited up and ready to go, repurposed Starforce suit colored in the dark drab of urban camouflage.
"Morning, Sergeant. Ready for another day scouring the streets for scum?"

It had been a disaster, but Captain Danvers was loyal. Frighteningly powerful, too, but she knew to use that power for the good of the people. They could work together. No tension there.
The real tension was one of rank. He was explicitly there to provide stability, but she still outranked him. There was only so much he could do.
He salutes when she arrives. "Good morning, Captain. Ready as always." With the recent Porter activity in the middle of the holiday season, he was still pulling double shifts or more. But by this point, he could convince himself that it was freeing. What little was left of him was getting peeled away to just the essentials. No distractions, no stray thoughts. Nothing but his duties and the rules that held them together.
Nothing. Not at least for the past while.

"Good," she answers. "Let's get going. I have reports of meta activity on the South side of the City last night. Let's go see if we can flush any of the rats out from their hidey holes."

"If they're there, we'll deal with them." They could make a decent team. He'd always been up in skirmishing range before he got to Earth, but now with the meta powers, he'd taken to keeping further back, focusing on sharpshooting while someone like the Captain flushed the targets out.
Or just destroyed them wholesale. That was more than possible with her. "Any word on what to expect, sir?"

Teleporters are some of her least favorite metas to deal with.
