Harley Quinn & ota prompts

Who: Harley Quinn (aka Ronnie Tilyou) and ota starters
When: Throughout the event
Where: The supermarket and the Tilyou beach house
What: Losing Lucy in the store, houseguests, potential troublemakers being brought to their front door?

« Supermarket (ota)
Ronnie’s favorite things to do certainly do not include grocery shopping. She’d much rather be chasing Lucy, both of them barefoot, down the shore. Or dancing with George to music being played on an old record player and the sound of the water crashing against the beach. Or even sitting out in the sunshine with a good book.

Food shopping, though, is one of those necessary evils. And, on this day, she has Lucy with her, which makes the entire process a little more complicated. It’s not that her daughter’s terribly behaved. At least not out of spite. It’s more that Lucy has too much curiosity for her own good, which leads to her wanting to grab everything they pass and talk to everyone they meet.

Worse, the kid’s apparently picked up Ronnie’s aptitude for gymnastics. Which makes keeping her in the cart a struggle.

“Stay right here,” she says, smoothing her daughter’s hair back. The box of cereal she needs to get has, in someone’s infinite wisdom, only been stocked on the very highest shelf. And that means having to turn her back on Lucy while she either manages to knock her prize down with a different cereal box or climbs to the top shelf to retrieve it.

And, of course, as soon as she’s back on the linoleum floor, with the box tucked under one arm, saying, “See that only took a second” Lucy’s no longer in the cart. Or the aisle.

Ronnie doesn’t hesitate, she just starts trotting in the direction she knows the cookie and candy aisle are, calling her daughter’s name.

« Houseguests (ota) (This can also include family friends showing up with no motive of trying to hideout somewhere)
Ronnie always makes a big deal about their “houseguests”, even though they’ve become commonplace in the Tilyou household. She’s at least managed to learn the fine art of making lemonade (and, for the guests who want it, lemonade spiked with vodka). She makes sure to get the fancy cookies from the store. Those Milano ones. Or the chessmen. Or, if she’s feeling particularly gracious, the s-shaped breakfast cookies.

She makes sure there’s plenty of sandwich meat in the fridge for a quick dinner that even she can’t ruin.

And, the next morning, if everything goes along calmly, she and George (or, mostly, George while Ronnie pretends to help but is really simply trying not to burn anything) might even make French toast or waffles.

This evening’s no different as she waits on the porch for the new arrival, with a warm sweater shawl draped over her shoulders to keep away the chill of the ocean breeze. If they’re lucky, Lucy won’t come barreling out the front door like a mini-cannonball asking a million questions about whoever shows up.

« Wildcard
Up for all wildcard scenarios too! Or if you’d like something specific for your character I can start that below in the comments. I can also be found on Plurk for plotting at [plurk.com profile] auroraaustraliss.
