[ A: THE CITY ]
[ The first thing Jaime has to do is get his bearings in this city that some other version of him had once been called home. The best way of doing that is just to wander the streets, so that's precisely what he's doing. He's clearly on edge, hands shoved deep in his pockets, eyes flicking to corners of the city at things unseen to any but him, but he offers anyone who passes him by a thin smile anyway. You may recognize him, either his City's self or if you remember an entirely different world like Jaime, but he tends to escape notice fairly well.
You can find him at some lonely looking diner, poking his head in for a bite of food, though it seems that he intends to work for his meal without having much in the way of cash. Or you can find him at a newsstand, grabbing a paper and ignoring the cry of (hey, are you gonna pay for that?). Or maybe you'll even find him just wandering lost, unaware of where the good parts of town are and where the bad ones are.
[ B: A REBELLION BUNKER ]
[ It doesn't take long for him to find his way into a rebellion bunker, looking just as lost here as he did on the streets. Maybe you're the one who recognized him and brought him here to fill him in, or maybe it's another. Either which way, it ends the same way: he's told that he was in charge of establishing a network between the rebels and that he can now re-establish it. He's not welcomed necessarily out of affection for the last Jaime, nor out of the goodness of their hearts, though that may be part of it. It's because more than strength or flight, communications are the backbone of any good rebellion. ]
I did that? A whole network, for you guys?
...you know that wasn't really me, right?
[ C: IS THAT A BIRD? A PLANE? NO, IT'S JUST A STUPID BUG. ]
[ Lay low. That's what he told himself. Don't get into trouble, don't do anything stupid. Just be quiet, be subtle, and wait until you have some sense of what's going on before you do anything in any which direction. Jaime's always wanted to have knowledge before he acts, and in a place that's as much a simmering pot of trouble waiting to happen, that seems like the wisest course of action.
But he's always been helpless before the sight of seeing someone getting hurt. Maybe you're just watching. Maybe you're the one in trouble. Maybe you're even the enforcer themselves. Either which way, there's a fellow in a bugsuit headed in your direction with a cry of, ] Hey! Leave them alone!
[ Stupid Jaime. ]
[ D: WILDCARD ]
[ You know the drill. ]

[She does her best to hug him back, which isn't much less awkward in her current position either, but it's the thought that counts. She's been looking for someone, anyone really, who was familiar to her in this strange world. Not easy when also trying to dodge the authorities and the cruelties they have in mind for "metas." She'd already once experienced being pointed at her friends like a weapon and she never wants it to happen again.]
How long have you been here? Are you okay? [...] Do you have a plan on where we're going?
[while. she isn't protesting this course of action for the sake of it, she would like to know that he has some kind of idea? or at least to remind him that they should come up with one.]

[ He twists in the sky, head tilting as he listens to some invisible force - half Khaji, half his ability to hear tech - before changing course to a mid-sized rooftop surrounded by skyscrapers, enough to give them some cover. People in the buildings across from them could report them, admittedly, but Jaime thinks that he's willing to take the chance that most people don't want to attract more attention than necessary, even if it does mean doing what's ostensibly the right thing. ]
There. Whoof. [ He lets out a heavy exhale. ]
So, um, fun story. There's a place I could technically take you to, but only if you want me to. There's a rebellion here. A rebellion a different version of me was part of, so -- that's where I was brought when I arrived.

A different--[Of course, why not? This is already a parallel version of Earth. She is from a parallel version of Earth. And she remembers that one of the first things she did years ago was to try and see if there was a Fuu Hououji living as an adult in Japan.
And with that in mind: the other Jaime. Was. That sits with her in an unpleasant way.] I'm not surprised, if this is how the authorities here behave... have you joined them now, too?
